An East La Penitence woman was brought before city courts yesterday on charges of having a gun, ammunition, and over 100 pounds of cannabis in her possession.
Alexis Phillips, 40, of 436 Powis Street, East La Penitence, appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan on the charge that on September 16, 2016, at her place of residence, she had 51.350 kilogrammes (equivalent to 113 pounds) of cannabis in her possession for trafficking.
She pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Phillips later appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore, who read charges that stated that on that same day and at the same East La Penitence location, she had a .38 revolver in her possession, along with two live matching rounds.
She pleaded not guilty to those charges as well.
The matters have been adjourned to October 4, when they will be heard in the Chief Magistrate’s Court. The defendant has been remanded until that time.
