A young McDoom fisherman, brought before a city court on three counts of breaking and entering and larceny, was remanded to prison after he pleaded not guilty to the charges yesterday.
It was alleged that Michael Scott, 20, of 65 Middle Street, McDoom, on July 14, in Georgetown, while being in the company of others, broke and entered the house of Danelle Boston and stole two gold chains and other items, worth $680,900, which was the property of Shanice Narine.
It was further alleged that upon entering Boston’s house, he stole two pairs of sneakers valued $40,000, which was the property of Patrick Weaver.
It was also claimed that Scott and others took US$200, which belonged to the owner of the home, Boston.
Scott pleaded not guilty to all three charges.
The prosecution objected to bail due to the seriousness of the charges and it was upheld by Magistrate Fabayo Azore, who remanded Scott to prison until October 10, when the matter will be called at Court 6.
