Dear Editor,
Having read Mr Pat Dial’s column in the Sunday Chronicle (September 11) regarding the causes of accidents and recommendations, I was left breathless for a second or two. Mr Dial made no mention of the major contribution that alcohol abuse has in relation to a significant number of traffic accidents.
Only recently I read in your newspaper of two accidents, one on Sherriff Street and the other at No 49 Village, Corentyne in which drivers of one or more vehicles were apparently inebriated.
Maybe it is time all cars be outfitted with the sensory equipment /technology that is available even though costly, that will cause a car not to start if the driver reeks of alcohol.
Yours faithfully,
