Dear Editor,
Since last year October I noticed that sand trucks are carrying out from Palmer Street, La Grange, West Bank Demerara 10-15 loads of dirt per day up to 10 pm at night, and no one knows who authorized this or who is receiving money for this activity and why.
It was only between July-August 2015 that repairs were done to Palmer Street, but now it is full of potholes owing to the fact that heavy duty vehicles are traversing the road. I am appalled that this administration is spending huge sums of money in the name of reclaiming monies and properties belonging to the country and with a view to stamping out corruption, but corrupt practices and lack of accountability are inherent in everything else and no proper attention is being paid to these happenings.
I implore the appropriate ministry to find out why the top soil is being removed from Palmer Street in La Grange, which is causing great damage to the paved part of the road.
Yours faithfully,
