As part of the 125th anniversary celebrations of the Demerara Mutual Life Assurance Society Limited on September 19, the management and staff hosted a health fair and a dental outreach.Both of the events were held in collaboration with the Davis Memorial Hospital. Thirty-two children of the Saver Kids Orphanage at Cornelia Ida, West Coast Demerara had their teeth cleaned, extracted and filled on the day of the anniversary.Together with the dentist from the Davis Memorial Hospital, the insurance company sponsored a visiting dental team from Loma Linda University in the United States.On the same day, the company treated customers to light snacks and refreshments, in what it deemed “Customer Appreciation Day.”The health fair was held on September 14 in the compound of the insurance company and comprised a range of medical services, including HIV, blood sugar and blood pressure testing, which were offered to the public.
