Dear Editor,
The GTT internet service tends to rob mobile internet users; I am baffled and angry at the disappearance of my credit more than once.
I usually take a daily internet plan/service after crediting five hundred dollars. When my credit is depleted there is a message telling the user that if they so desire they can type in “yes” to get two hundred and fifty dollars credit, and that two hundred and seventy-five dollars would be deducted at the next top-up. I did this twice, once when I was down to $58.00 and my new balance became $308.00. Fine.
Without any calls or internet activity, and before the other minute is completed a message stated that my balance is $88.00. This is very mysterious. I am afraid to add further credit because unexplained deductions are happening.
Yesterday on my way from work. I credited $500.00 and without much fuss my total credit became $91.84.
I wish to note that these messages have no accompanying number. The messages are all the same: “Your Core Balance reached $91.84. Reply YES to receive $250 and $275 will be deducted from your next top up from a vendor near you.”
There is another gimmick. In another message, you are asked to type “1” and send in order to discontinue the arrangement stated earlier. You are always being told “Invalid Response. Please reply with the option presented”. What option?
GTT needs to do better; the general perception is that there is much dishonesty. I will change my service provider. That is the option I know of.
Yours faithfully,
