Beterverwagting/Triumph United and Bachelors Adventure/Paradise Sports Club scored contrasting wins when the National Milling Company (Namilco) Thunderbolt Flour U17 National Championships continued Saturday in the East Coast of Demerara zone.
Played at the Melanie Community ground, BV/Triumph squeaked past Golden Stars 3-2. Falling behind to a 20th minute goal from Shemar Kingston, BV/Triumph equalized in the 43rd minute through Omari Glasgow.
Glasgow gave BV/Triumph the lead with his second goal in the 50th minute and the score surged to 3-1 in the 70th minute when Glasgow netted his third goal.
Golden Stars netted again in the 80th minute through Kingston but Beterverwagting/Triumph United held on for the win.
Meanwhile, Bachelors Adventure/Paradise Sports Club crushed Buxton Stars 4-0 led by a Teshawn Gordon hat-trick in the 24th, 40th and 70th minute. Adding to the rout was Colin Hendricks in the 78th minute.
