A couple of weeks ago I and several others were writing to complain of the everyday blackouts and in several areas, low voltage, but despite this GPL or the relevant ministry has not been courteous enough to issue a statement or some kind of apology to the citizens affected. We of the East Bank have started to have low voltage today (Tuesday), in addition to the almost daily blackouts with no explanation as to the cause.
Two Saturdays ago there was complete blackout all day from 6 am to 7 pm. I had meat stored from the Islamic Festival and nearly 90% was spoilt, not to mention other foods. There was Saturday 24th, when again there was almost a complete blackout.
In addition to the above the water people have been issuing big threats and demanding prompt payment of bills, but they never match this with the same service to their customers. As I write today Eccles Old Road has had no water for some days now; some drips may come early some mornings.
Why must we suffer like this, especially for services we are forced to pay for?
