Soft Drinks Plant Thursday defeated Trisco/Novelty by nine wickets when the Banks DIH Limited GT Beer Inter-Department tapeball tournament continued at the Thirst park ground.
In pursuit of 101 runs in 12 overs the tournament favourites romped to the 101-1 from 8.1 overs to win the lopsided contest. Shiv Parmanand led the assault with an aggressive and unbeaten 45 laced with three fours and two sixes.
He was supported by Steven Campbell whose 29 included three sixes and an unbeaten 17-run effort from Milroy Gomes which included two sixes. Bowling for Trisco/ Novelty, all-rounder Keevin Farley took 1-36.
Earlier, Soft Drinks had dismissed Trisco/Novelty for 100 led by an impressive bowling display from Terod Abel and Stephen Campbell. Abel captured 4-6 and Campbell 3-25.
Farley then made his presence felt with the bat as he top scored with 20 runs, striking three sixes in the process.
Devin Beresford was the next best scorer with 18, an innings that included two fours and one six.
The event continues Tuesday.
