The Green Machine’s hopes of continuing their 2019 World Cup Qualifying Campaign in Japan were extinguished as they went down horribly to Mexico 32-5 yesterday in the Rugby America’s North (RAN) Qualifiers Final in Mexico City.
Due to the win, Mexico will now faceoff with the winner of the South American B Championship winner in November.
Prior to the finale, Guyana earned their place to the RAN Final after claiming three victories to capture the South Zone. The Guyanese crushed Barbados 48-17 followed by a 23-5 and 23-18 win over Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago respectively.
For the Mexicans, their passage to the final was clinched by claiming the North Zone with victories over Bahamas 39-3, Bermuda 75-10 and Cayman Islands 34-24.
