West Demerara and Lower Corentyne yesterday played to a draw in their top-of-the table clash of the Guyana Cricket Board/ Cricket Guyana Incorporated three day Franchise League sixth round encounter.
Played at the Tuschen, Lower Corentyne were bowled out for 221 in 61 overs with Devon Clements following up his unbeaten century in the first innings with another important innings of 77 which included 10 fours and three sixes. His knock helped tournament leaders Lower Corentyne to an overall lead of 217. Royston Crandon and Jonathan Foo supported with 33 and 30 respectively.
West Demerara, in their second innings, requiring 218 for victory in a minimum of 46 overs were left stranded on 163/5 off 37.3 overs when the match was called off with 10 minutes remaining in the day’s play. Raymon Reifer and Tagenarine Chanderpaul both struck 52. Bowling for Lower Corentyne, Royston Crandon took 5/60.

At the Everest Cricket Club ground, Camp Road, Upper Corentyne defeated East Bank Demerara by 209 runs.
Chasing a mammoth 412 for victory, East Bank Demerara were dismissed for 202 with Steven Jacobs top scoring with 61.
Other useful knocks came from Ershad Ali, 33, Mark Rhobe, 29, and Stephan Harris 25 not out.
Bowling for Upper Corentyne, Shawn Perreira bagged 6/55 while Eon Hooper had 3/74.

At Cumberland, Georgetown defeated West Berbice by 77 runs. West Berbice resuming on 112/2 rallied to 361 all out in pursuit of 439 for victory. Avishwar Sewkarran, 82, Steffon Adams, 81, Kevin Jawahir, 60, Leon Andrews, 33 and Brentnol Woolford 22 were the main contributors. Bowling for Georgetown, Christopher Barnwell captured 3/51 while there were two wickets each for Sunil Singh, Devon Lord, and Gajanan Suknanan.

At the Imam Bacchus ground, Essequibo, East Coast Demerara resuming on their overnight score of 2/1 piled up 468/3 with Chandrapaul Hemraj smashing an unbeaten 250 while teenager Bhaskar Yadram registered his second century of the match, following up his first innings 118 with 121 in the second innings. Hemraj smashed 19 fours and 17 towering sixes during his classy innings while Yadram hit 14 fours and two sixes. Kamesh Yadram was the other not out batsman with 56. Bowling for Essequibo, Kemo Paul had 2/90.
