Uitvlugt maintained their unbeaten record in the Stag Beer sponsored West Demerara Football Association (WDFA) Senior League, riddling Jetty Gunners 10-0 Sunday at the Den Amstel ground.
Jetty Gunners were outgunned from start to finish, surrendering five goals in the first half. Lerone Jacobs led the rout in the opening period, recording three of his eventual four goals in the 10th, 19th and 38th minute.
He was assisted by siblings Keion and Kevin Duke who scored in the 12th and 14th minute. The carnage continued in the second half as Uitvlugt recorded another five goals to cap a brilliant all-round performance.
Keion Duke scored his second in the 46th minute before Siretsi Leech, Jacobs, Carlisle Carrol and Daniel Floy found the back of the net in the 50th, 60th, 61st and 71st minute apiece.
It was the fifth win for Uitvlugt who move to 16 points and into third position while Jetty Gunners drop to ninth with four points. Meanwhile, Eagles and Golden Warriors battled to a 1-1 result.
Chris Macey gave Eagles the lead in the 18th minute before Golden Warriors equalized eight minutes later through Delon Layne. With the result, Eagles with 11 points, remain in sixth position while Golden Warriors occupy the eight spot with five points. The championship will resume at the same location on Saturday with another doubleheader.
