Over 60 horses have been entered for the inaugural Nand Persaud Karibee Rice Mega Sprint Classic Horses race meet today at the company’s race track at Macedonia, Corentyne, Berbice.
Eight events are on the cards for today and over three million dollars in cash, trophies and other incentives are at stake.
The feature event is open to all horses and will see Plum Plum of the Shariff Stable, Golden Blue Echo of the Karibee Rice stable, Strom Bird of the Inshan Bacchus Stable, Wichie Poo and Honey Flow, of the Karibee Rice stable, in action over four furlongs, for the cash prize of $350,000 and a trophy.
The G class event for horses over 660 yards will see the winning receiving $250,000 and a trophy while the event for horses classified H and lower also over 660 yards has a first prize of $200,000 and a trophy. The two-year-olds will compete over 440 yards for $100,000 and a trophy.
Top jockeys will receive trophies compliments of Trophy Stall, Bourda Market.
