Carl Braithwaite, who police say stabbed a nine-year-old boy during an attack in the city, was yesterday sentenced to nine months in jail for the crime.
Braithwaite, 31, charged with assault causing actual bodily harm, was sentenced by Magistrate Dylon Bess after he pleaded guilty to the charge.
The charge stated that on September 15, at Avenue of the Republic, Braithwaite inflicted several stab wounds about the boy’s body.
According to the details presented by the prosecutor, on the day of the attack, the young boy was walking along Robb Street when suddenly Braithwaite approached from behind and stabbed him three times.
The court heard that Braithwaite would frequently stab persons.
