Despite a superb half century from former West Indies cricketer Travis Dowlin, Floodlights cricket team went under to Berbice Masters by 32 runs in a specially arranged match Saturday at the Demerara Cricket Club ground.
Berbice Master won the toss, batted and scored 172-6 off their allotted 20 overs. Randolph Latcha, 50, Hubert Evans, 33, Imran Hussain, 33 and Eon Abel 25 were the main contributors.
Bowling for Floodlights young Romeo Deonarain captured 1-18 from four overs while Surendra Nauth 1-36, Reyaz Hussain 1-39 and Anil Beharry 1-9 were the other wicket takers.
Floodlights, in reply, could only muster 140- 8 off their allotted 20 overs with Dowlin making a superb 67.
Patrick Khan made 26 and Ricky Deonarain, 20.
S. Mangali and Imran Hussain took three wickets each.
Dowlin and Randolph Latcha were adjudged the best players for their respective teams.

Meanwhile, Floodlights will play Bush Lot cricket team of West Coast Berbice in another T20 hardball match at the DCC Ground.
