Police yesterday pulled the dead body of a man out of a trench at Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara.
Unto press time last night, the man was still to be identified.
Residents told Stabroek News that public-spirited citizens saw the body in the trench at around 3.30pm and alerted the police.
A source told Stabroek News the man was covered in mud, which made it difficult for persons to identify him immediately. The state of decomposition of the body could not have been determined immediately.
The body is currently at the Lyken Funeral Parlour.
