A 56-year-old businesswoman was early this morning found bound and gagged on the floor of her bedroom at her Mahaicony home following a robbery.
Dead is Bibi Shairoom Nesha Ali, a mother of three, who resided at Lot 4 Novar, Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara.
Reports revealed that the woman was discovered dead around 6.30 this morning after she was not seen over the weekend. Her hands were tied with electric wires and there were several wounds across her back.
Several items including a quantity of phone cards and cellular phones were missing.
A police investigation has since been launched and one person has been held for questioning.
