In recognition of Agriculture Month, Food for the Poor (Guyana) Incorporated (FFP) donated a variety of agricultural tools to farmers, farmers groups, cooperative societies and farmers associations, a release from FFP said.
The agricultural items donated included water pumps, rain boots, pick axes, forks, shovels, machetes, files and hoes.
On receipt of the items, Debbie Argyle of the Mahaica Women’s Group said that she was happy to receive the items on behalf of the group and promised to work assiduously with FFP to make the lives of the residents of her community comfortable while Herendranauth Bharrat of Shieldstown Cattle Farmers Co-operative Society said that he will ensure that the tools be used for the purpose intended.
In his remarks, Public Relations Manager of FFP Wayne Hamilton, said that FFP is committed to helping the agricultural sector and urged the farmers to make optimum use of the tools.
