A car that was allegedly hijacked by gunmen last evening at Republic Park, Greater Georgetown was found burnt in Eccles East Bank Demerara and the driver of the vehicle Anthony Sukdeo is seeking the motive behind the act.
Stabroek News was told by the driver’s cousin Chandra Tekchand that at around 6.30 pm, Sukdeo made a stop at his parents’ home in Republic Park. When he pulled up in front of the home, Tekchand explained, his cousin noticed three cars with gunmen stop beside him. At this point, Sukdeo, who is a driver/salesman employed by Massy Trading, suspected something was amiss and ran out of the car.
The hijackers, Stabroek News was told, wasted no time in driving away with the car. However, the family immediately launched a search and found the Toyota 212 bearing registration number PNN 7321 burnt at Eccles.
