Trisco sealed their semi-final berth in the Banks DIH Limited Soft Ball Cricket Tournament, defeating Head Office by 26 runs, on Monday at the Thirst Park ground.
Asked to take first strike, Trisco recorded 128 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted 10 overs. K. Farley top scored with 37 runs, highlighted by five sixes. With extras contributing 25 runs, the next best scorer with the bat was H. Hadge with 21 runs (2x4s), while Y. Singh and J. Miller chipped in with 18 and 12 runs, respectively.
In reply, Head Office was dismissed for 98 in 9.2 overs. H. Jadunauth derailed Head Office’s attempt at a successful chase with figures of 5-21 in his three over spell. Joseph Calvan offered resistance with 41 runs (4x6s), before he was run out, while Paul Ramcharitar contributed 20 runs (2x6s). No other batsman recorded double figure scores, with extras contributing 18 runs in the loss.
Due to the win, Trisco will face-off with Vehicle Workshop in the semi-final round. Vehicle Workshop defeated Sales Department compliments of a walkover in the earlier fixture of the night.
The winner of the aforesaid semi-final will oppose Distribution/Warehouse in the final. Distribution/Warehouse earned a bye to the championship match because of their superior net run rate among the three remaining teams.
