Local conglomerate, Banks DIH Limited through three of its brands will fuel and rehydrate the participants of the second annual GTM Health and Fitness Expo scheduled for this weekend at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
The company’s support for the expo was made official during a simple ceremony on Tuesday at Fitness Express on Sheriff Street where Banks DIH representatives, Clive Pellew and Errol Nelson along with the organizers, Noshavyah King, Jordana Ramsey-Gonsalves and Jamie McDonald were present.
Nelson wished the organisers and participants well, noting that Banks DIH is always pleased to support events that create an avenue for persons to showcase their skills. He said that the beverage company will be providing refreshment in the form of Rainforest Waters, Vita Malt Plus and PowerAde Energy Drink.
Event Coordinator, Ramsey-Gonsalves, welcomed Banks DIH onboard, stating that the organizing committee is grateful for the support of corporate Guyana in pulling off the event.
Banks DIH is one of many corporate entities which has thrown its support behind this year’s event, which starts on Saturday with a Cancer Awareness Glow Walk at 17:00h, followed by a Zumba Party at 19:00h.
On Sunday, the action will continue from 14:00h at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall with rivalry in volleyball, mixed martial arts and basketball, followed by the highly anticipated Cross Fit Challenge from 18:00h.
A day pass is $1,500, while a weekend pass is $2,000. The event has received corporate backing from GTM, Banks DIH Limited, Fitness Express, Courts (Guyana) Inc., Genesis Fitness Express, St Joseph’s Mercy Hospital, Star Party Rentals, Axe Apparel, Degree, National Sports Commission, 704 Sports Bar, Healing Waters Spa, Lipton Tea and the Trophy Stall.
