An arrest warrant was yesterday issued for Shawn Hinds after he was a no-show at the continuation of his trial for allegedly dousing newspaper columnist Freddie Kissoon with faeces.
Hinds is charged alongside PPP members Kwame McCoy and Jason Abdulla, with assaulting Kissoon, whom they are accused of dousing with human faeces during an attack in 2010.
The trial, which was set for continuation before Magistrate Judy Latchman yesterday, saw an adjournment despite the readiness of a police witness to take the stand.
After it was discovered that Hinds was not present in court, no explanation was presented as it related to his whereabouts. This resulted in the magistrate issuing an arrest warrant for him.
The matter was adjourned to November 18th.
