In a bid to improve the Guyana Fire Service (GFS), the government will be investing in more firefighting vehicles.
Minister of State Joseph Harmon announced at the post cabinet briefing on Thursday, which was held at the Ministry of the Presidency, that they had granted a no objection to the procurement of fire-fighting vehicles for the GFS.
He explained that the contract, which was valued at $77, 250, 998, will see the procurement of two water tenders, four water bowsers and two ambulances. They will be acquired from Angloco Limited of the United Kingdom.
