A convicted felon, who is currently serving six months in jail for dangerous driving, was yesterday charged with injuring another man.
The courtroom of Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan heard that on October 11, at Bent Street, Georgetown, Cordell Drakes, 33, of Lot 3 Bent Street Wortmanville, inflicted grievous and bodily harm on Dexter Edwards.
Drakes, a route 46 minibus driver, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Police Prosecutor Neville Jeffers said Drakes had a number of warrants for him to appear before the court but did not comply.
Edwards, who was always in court on the days when Drakes was absent, appeared yesterday with his right hand in a cast to hear his alleged abuser answer to the charge.
Drakes was further remanded by the Chief Magistrate, who adjourned the case to November 16 for statements.
