Parts of the East and West Demerara as well as Essequibo are scheduled for blackouts next week as the Guyana Power and Light Inc (GPL) conducts line maintenance.
According to a press release from GPL, on Sunday, the University of Guyana’s Turkeyen Campus will have no power from 8am to 4pm.
On Monday, on the East Coast of Demerara from Enmore Estate Road to Nooten Zuil, and Strathspey (south of the Railway Embankment) will have a blackout from 8am to 4pm.
On Wednesday, on the West Coast of Demerara, Oceans Garden will be without power from 8am to 4pm.
On Thursday, in Essequibo, from Walton Hall to Charity there will be a blackout from 8.30am to 4pm.
And on Sunday, November 20th, on the East Bank of Demerara, from Houston to Mocha will be without power from 8.30am to 4.30pm, while from Herstelling to Eccles Public Road will be without power from 8.30am to 10.30am.
According to the company, the scheduled power outages will be in place to facilitate line maintenance throughout the areas.
