Chinese chef shot during robbery

A twenty-eight-year old Chinese chef who was minutes after midnight shot and robbed as he was in the process of entering his Bonasika Street, Section ‘K’ Campbellville home, is hospitalised at a private hospital, in a stable condition, the police say.

Thousands march in US cities against Trump presidency

  NEW YORK/LOS ANGELES(Reuters) – Chanting “Not my president” and “Love trumps hate,” thousands of demonstrators took the streets in cities across the United States yesterday to protest against President-elect Donald Trump, who they say threatens their civil and human rights.

Guyanese making waves

Experimental forms of theatre seen in drama festival preliminaries

The National Drama Festival (NDF) 2016 is now in progress. Among its key objectives are the grand exhibition of the best of Guyanese theatre; the advancement of the dramatic arts and the improvement of theatrical skills; the promotion of new theatre both in terms of written plays to enlarge the corpus of Guyanese drama and extending the frontiers of theatrical form, dramatic styles in both writing and directing techniques; providing instruction through drama; and addressing national and social issues through the use of the stage.
