Soesdyke Falcons and Circuit Ville Jaguars fashioned hard-fought wins against Kuru-Kururu Warriors and Herstelling Raiders respectively, when the Guyana Football Federation (GFF)/NAMILCO Thunderbolt Flour Power U17 League continued yesterday.
The Falcons clawed their way past the Warriors by a 2-1 margin at the Grove Play field. Tyrone Khan and Junior Williams secured the come from behind result with goals in the 73rd and 76th minute, respectively. Initially giving Warriors the lead in the 25th minute was Ricardo Grant.
Conversely, Circuit Ville Jaguars pounced on Herstelling Raiders 3-1. Prince Forde, Isaiah Dodson and Desmond Chester scored in the 19th, 39th and 47th minute respectively. For the loser, Donnet McLennon scored in the 74th minute.
It was the second consecutive win for the Jaguars as they were awarded the points against Soesdyke Falcons, despite losing 10-1 last week, after it was revealed the latter illegally fielded GFC forward Kelsey Benjamin. Over at the Golden Grove ground, home side Golden Stars dethroned Victoria Kinds 4-0, led by a double from Ceyon Montrose in the 47th and 58th minute. Scoring in the 61st and 68th minute were Shawn Adonis and Michael Wood, respectively. Buxton United crushed Ann’s Grove 3-0 through goals from Nixon Robertson, Troni Semple, and Clint Headley in the eighth, ninth and 21st minute correspondingly.
Also in the winner’s circle was Mahaica Determinators who defeated Buxton Stars via a walkover. In the Georgetown section, Fruta Conquerors maintained their unbeaten run as they hammered Eastville 6-0 at the Tucville ground.
Pele edged Georgetown Football Club (GFC) 1-0, while Santos defeated Order and Discipline via a walkover. In the West Demerara zone, league leader Den Amstel won via walkover against Beavers West Demerara.
