The People’s Progressive Party (PPP) has intensified its preparations for its 31st Congress, which will be held in Essequibo from December 16 to 18 under the theme: ‘Strengthen the Party, Defend Democracy, Onward to Victory.’
General Secretary of the PPP Clement Rohee told reporters at a press conference yesterday that the congress “will bring together delegates and observers drawn from all ten administrative regions of Guyana” while a number of overseas groups are expected to attend.The highlights of the congress will be the Central Committee’s report to be presented by Rohee and an address by Leader of the Opposition Bharrat Jagdeo along with the elections to the Central Committee of the PPP.
