Two hooded bandits on Tuesday evening broke into a Woolford Avenue building which houses two educational institutions and carted off an undisclosed amount of cash and valuables.
The incident occurred around 11pm at the offices of the Critchlow Labour College and Texila University.
Reports reaching Stabroek News revealed that the bandits gained entry to the building after removing a grilled door from the Administrative office of the Critchlow Labour College. They subsequently forced their way into the Finance office through a hole in the wall where they managed to escape with a quantity of cash.
Afterwards, they reportedly removed several window panes and entered the section of the building which houses the Texila University office where they carted off projectors and laptop computers.
Up to yesterday the employees of Texila University were still trying to ascertain if any other items were removed from the office.
A report was made to the police who have since visited the scene and obtained fingerprints. The incident was caught on CCTV footage which is being reviewed by investigators.
