Dear Editor,
We read and learn that the road on which the Chinese Embassy is located here in Guyana is to be renamed ‘Fuzhou Road’ by the Mayor and City Council of Georgetown, in honour of the city’s relationship with the Chinese city of Fuzhou.
Just two questions I have to ask: how much fried rice did that change cost us, the taxpayers of this country? And when would we replace the whole and only land of many waters by the land of chow mein and tomato ketchup?
Georgetown too ere long may be on the list to be replaced by the name Chinatown!
Our hero Cuffy must be roaring and rolling in his grave with laughter at this blatant aberration.
Yours faithfully,
Rooplall Dudhnath
