Sachin Singh and Sherfane Rutherford combined to help Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) hammer arch rivals Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) by 10 wickets, thus cementing a spot in the final of the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/ New Building Society Second Division 40 overs competition.
Singh, the National U15 opener scored an unbeaten 43 with three fours and three sixes, while his partner Raymond Perez aided with 23, to help DCC successfully chase 69 runs without any issues.
Earlier, Rutherford was the pick of the bowlers for DCC, claiming three wickets during his spell, while the more experienced Antonnel Atwell grabbed two to help keep the Bourda boys to 69-10 in 22 overs on their home ground, with Martin Pestano Bell the primary scorer with 23, and Devon Lord getting 19.
The defending champs DCC will now be awaiting their opponents for the finals come this weekend when Transport Sports Club (TSC) and Everest Cricket Club lock horns in the other semi-final.
