Thursday night’s Chateau Margot Public Road crash victim has been discharged from the hospital and is currently at home recuperating.
According to reports reaching Stabroek News, Alim Mohamed, 33, had picked up his six-year-old son from his grandparents’ home in La Bonne Intention, East Coast Demerara, and was riding along the East Coast Railway Embankment Road when a car, travelling west, collided with his bicycle pitching the man and his son in the corner.
Mohamed, who was unconscious, and his son were picked up by a taxi and rushed to the hospital. He sustained several minor injuries to his head.
An eyewitness explained that the driver of the vehicle did not stop to check on the condition of Mohamed and his son and sped away after hitting them.
Mohamed’s wife, Trisha Baljor, explained to Stabroek News that she got a call that her husband and child were in an accident and she rushed to the hospital. She explained that the driver had been arrested and was subsequently placed on station bail.
