National junior squash champions Taylor Fernandes (Girls U19) and Shomari Wiltshire (Boys U15) departed yesterday for tournaments in North America.
The two players will first attend a training camp in Washington D.C., this week in preparation for the Canadian Junior Open Championships to be hosted by The Club at White Oaks, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, from the 9th to 13th December, and the United States Junior Open Squash Championships in Connecticut, from the 17th to 20th December.
The US Juniors is considered to be the third most prestigious junior open squash tournament in the world after the World Junior and the British Junior Open squash championships.
Rebecca Lowe will join the duo for the two tourneys and will play in the Girls U19 category.
