The Grove Seventh Day Adventist Church on Sunday hosted its annual party for senior citizens from villages between Golden Grove and Prospect, on the East Bank Demerara.
The Community Services Department of the church, which has been functioning for over 25 years, has been organising the party for seniors for the past 15 years.
Approximately six hampers were distributed to senior citizens in the upper East Bank village of Hope earlier on Sunday morning. Approximately 86 hampers were distributed to seniors of Golden Grove, Diamond, Samatta Point, Caneville and Prospect. Both party attendees and shut-ins received hampers.
Community service leader at the church Pamela Mentore said the department was grateful for the members who continue to support the church in its ventures.
She revealed that the department is planning a community dental care session in January.
