No bail for repeat offender Rico

A bus conductor found his way before a city court yesterday to answer to the offence of attempting to break and enter an office.

Rico Persaud, a familiar face to the court, was read a charge which stated that on December 3, at Parade Street, Kingston, he committed a felony when he attempted to break and enter the office of Merisha Coswick.

Persaud, 20, of Lot 171 West Ruimveldt, denied the allegations levelled against him.

The prosecutor objected to bail based on the facts that the defendant is a repeat offender, was positively identified by the complainant, the nature of the offence and the penalty it attracts.

Persaud was denied bail by Magistrate Faith McGusty, and will make his next court appearance before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan on Decem-ber 21.
