The No. #5 Ground in West Coast Berbice will come alive tonight when the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) battles Monedderlust FC, and Victoria Kings engage Topp XX in the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Stage Beer Elite League. Holder of a perfect 3-0 record, the second placed army unit will enter the showdown at 20:30hrs as the favourite against the home side.
From an attacking perspective, GDF leads the division with 15 goals, following lopsided wins over Victoria Kings, Buxton United and Topp XX. On the defensive end, the Camp Ayanganna unit has conceded twice.
For the fourth positioned hosts, the event has been a mixed bag, highlighted with one win and two losses. This is further evident by the statistics, with four goal scored compared with eight goals conceded.
In the earlier match at 18:30hrs, third placed Victoria Kings will tackle fellow league debutant and cellar occupants Topp XX.
The East Coast of Demerara unit has improved significantly following their opening 7-1 defeat to GDF, securing a draw and a win, against Fruta Conquerors and Buxton United, respectively.
Offensively, Victoria Kings have recorded three goals. On the defensive end, they have been breached eight times.
Meanwhile, the Lindeners have been a disappointment in the tournament, as they have yet to get off the mark, following three consecutive losses. The numbers don’t make for good reading, with only two goals scored, the worst in the event. Defensively, the Mining Town side has conceded nine times, with only Buxton United possessing a worse record with 10 goals allowed.
