Cabinet on November 24 gave its no-objection to infrastructure projects worth $619m, key among which is the Potaro main access road.
According to a release from the Ministry of the Presidency, the contract for the Potaro main access road – Denham Bridge – #78 Miles in Region Seven will be done by A and S General Contractors for $180.5m.
Three roads in Mahdia, Region Eight will be done by B and J Civil Works to the amount of $109.8m. These are the community road, the dormitory road and an extension of the school road.
The construction of an access road to the derelict vehicle site, Kuru Kururu, Linden/Soesdyke Highway is to be done by Eron Lall Civil Engineering to the tune of $149.7m.
Other infrastructure projects will see R and B Investment Inc taking on Lot #1 of a project in Bartica for the construction of roads and drains to the value of $41.5m. Lot 2 of the works will be done by B and J Civil works to the value of $35.1m.
Gaico Construction and General Services Inc has secured a contract for $50m for the additional works to the access road to the Haags Bosch landfill on the East Bank Demerara.
Two access bridges at the Coldingen Industrial Estate, Region Four are to be done by C and J Civil Works in the sum of $29.5m.
A A V Ragoobeer General Construction will be doing river works along the Waikinipa Creek, Akawini River in the amount of $19.2m.
H Nauth and Sons Civil Engineering Contractors has won a $1.45m contract for additional work on the Mon Repos #2 Railway Embankment Bridge.
V Dalip Enterprise secured a $2m contract for additional works on the the Goedverwagting Railway Embankment Bridge, Region Four.
