Three-time defending champion Federal Winners Connection and Silver Shattas secured contrasting wins when the fourth annual Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA)/GT Beer Championship continued Sunday.
Winners Connection earned three points without breaking a sweat at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) in Linden, following a walkover result against Hi-Stars, who failed to take the playing area.
Meanwhile, Silver Shattas defeated Milerock FC 2-0. Damian Williams opened the scoring in the 41st minute while Colwyn Drakes applied the finishing the touch with a 75th minute strike.
The event resumes tomorrow at the same venue with another doubleheader. At 18:00hrs, Amelia’s Ward Panthers will lock horns with Botafogo while Net Rockers will battle Kwakwani Strikers at 20:00hrs.
