A fireman from Linden was brutally chopped about his body on Wednesday night by a group of men who showed up at his home.
The injured man, Mesimba Sampson 30, of Wisroc, Linden is currently at the Mackenzie Hospital.
Information reaching Stabroek News revealed that the man was attacked after grabbing a gun from one of his attackers.
Compton Sparman, Divisional Officer of the Guyana Fire Service, said he was told that the attack was as a result of a disagreement between Sampson and a villager.
Sampson became aware of the presence of the men on his property. As he opened the door a police source said he saw the men and acted swiftly to take away the gun that was in the hands of one of the men. He was brutally beaten by the three other men and during the process he suffered several chop wounds.
