Amelia’s Ward Panthers upset three-time winners and defending champions Federal Winners Connections when the Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA)/GT Beer football tournament continued Friday.
Marlan Simon separated the two sides at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) ground, Linden, with his 41st minute goal which went through the wall and into the back of the net from a free kick.
Meanwhile, Milerock grounded Eagles 3-2 with Clarence Huggins, Lorenzo Miller and Collyer Daniels scoring in the 52nd, 59th and 64th minute respectively.
Kendolph Lewis and Seon Barrett Jr. scored in the 44th and 84th minute respectively for the losing side.
The event resumes today at the same venue with another doubleheader. Silver Shattas will oppose Net Rockers from 18:00hrs while Hi-Stars will engage Blueberry Hill from 20:00hrs.
