The family of Faiyaz Narinedatt, who was found lying lifeless on the Number 70 Village Public Road, Corentyne on November 1 is patiently waiting on the police to have key suspect Marcus Brian Bisram returned to the country for questioning.
Narinedatt’s father yesterday told Stabroek News that they have not received any updates from the police on having Bisram returned.
Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum had said that the matter is currently being looked at by the Office of Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). The DPP’s Chambers has to follow certain procedures and those procedures are being followed he said.
He had also said that they had informed their counterparts in the US for access to the US based-Guyanese.
Bisram, 27, who is believed to be in the United States, was named by the police here as a co-defendant in the murder of Narinedatt. He has been active on Facebook.
Five other men, including Bisram’s bodyguard, have been formally charged with the murder.
