The Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) is set for a forensic audit.
An advertisement in the Christmas Day edition of the state-owned Guyana Chronicle invited eligible and qualified persons to submit Expressions of Interest (EoI) to perform a forensic audit for the period January 1, 2012 to July 31, 2017.
The candidate will be required to be a chartered accountant, have had extensive experience in the audit field and have had a strong track record in conducting forensic audits for government agencies.
The EoI’s must be submitted to The Chairman, Ministry of Public Infrastructure Tender Board, Ministry of Public Infrastructure, Wight’s Lane, Kingston, Georgetown on or before 9 am on Tuesday, January 10.
The notice was issued under the signature of recently appointed GCAA Director General, Lt Col (ret’d) Egbert Field.
Dozens of audits were commissioned by the APNU+AFC Government when it came into office in 2015. The audits were single-sourced. This one has been advertised.
The latest forensic audit comes at a time when the government is facing the embarrassment of the Auditor General announcing that one of the APNU+AFC’s first grand projects, the D’urban Park facility will be the subject of a forensic audit. The D’Urban Park project has evoked widespread condemnation over the manner in which it was orchestrated, the lack of transparency and the large sum involved.
