Responding to the entertainment needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) Guyanese, the Society Against Sexual Orientation Discrimination (SASOD) is hosting its first Old Year’s Night party dubbed Mardi Gras: The Masquerade Ball this evening at the Triumph Lounge, located at 8 Barrack Street, Kingston, Georgetown.
Partygoers are encouraged to come out early and indulge one last time for 2016! The festivities start at 9 pm with free cocktails, free party favours and free finger foods for revellers who arrive before midnight. Mix master Tony is expected to keep the celebration energized with the best hits in all genres of music as the partygoers bid farewell to 2016 and usher in 2017. Revellers are encouraged to wear their best Carnivalesque party attire and take full advantage of all the offerings at Mardi Gras: The Masquerade Ball!
Limited pre-sold tickets cost $2,000 and can be purchased from Oasis Cafe, 125 Carmichael Street; Triumph Lounge, 8 Barrack Street; Vintage Wine Bar and Lounge, 218 Lamaha Street; and SASOD’s office, 169 Charlotte Street. Admission at the door is $2,500.
All proceeds from this fundraiser go to SASOD’s LGBT Emergency Shelter Fund to provide emergency
shelter for LGBT victims of violence in Guyana.
