N& H Car Rentals recently donated a trophy towards the staging of the one week dominoes tournament
In honour of Chief Organizing secretary of the Georgetown National Dominoes Association (GNDA) Mark Wiltshire’s 62nd birth anniversary.
Wiltshire told Stabroek Sports yesterday that the one-week tournament will start on Monday at the Dynasty Sports Club.
Matches will also be held at locations on the East Coast, West Coast and West Bank of Demerara.
Entrance fee is $12,000 per team and trophies, medals and cash incentives will be at stake with the winning team set to receive $175,000, the runners up $75,000 and $35,000 and $15,000 going to the third and fourth-placed teams.
The best female player will receive $10,000 while the persons sharing the first love in the tournament and having the best average will receive $5000.
The players of the finals will also receive $5000 while the same sum will be awarded to the players sharing the first double love in the tournament.
Teams are advised that they will not be allowed to play unless they pay the entrance fee in full.
There will also be one re-entry per team as all the GNDA rules will be in effect Wiltshire said additionally all the prizes are guaranteed.
