History was made on January 3rd, 2017 in Georgetown as Logos Hope welcomed its six millionth visitor onboard. A release from Logos Hope said that Sharmila DeAbreu, a cosmetologist from Bartica, was congratulated by Captain Graham Wilburn, Director Seelan Govender and several international crewmembers at the entrance to the book fair. She also received a voucher worth 24,000 Guyanese dollars to spend inside.
Accompanied by her three daughters Amira, Katelyn and Joanne, as well as family friends, Sharmila was surprised at the reception, the release said. They only came on the 3rd because of an unexpected delay on an earlier day.
