The trial of the three men accused in the Ramada Princess Casino robbery is set to start next month after several delays.
Wayne Griffith, Junior Stewart and Andrew Blackman, while being in the company of others and armed with guns, allegedly robbed cashiers of $8,951,000, which was the property of the Princess Casino, on April 29, 2016, at Providence, East Bank Demerara.
During a hearing yesterday, Magistrate Leron Daly scheduled February 13 for the start of the trial.
Since the men were charged with the robbery last May, two trial dates were set by the magistrate but the start was delayed on each occasion following requests by the defence.
Yesterday, the magistrate ordered police prosecutor Bharat Mangru to get his witnesses ready for the set date. The matter was adjourned until then.
