The police on Friday exhumed the body of Surujpaul Dindyal and while his family is certain that the remains are indeed his, they are awaiting the results of an autopsy.
The exhumation at the Good Hope Cemetery took ranks approximately eight hours to complete and several of Dindyal’s family members gathered to witness the process.
However, while the family is satisfied that the exhumation, which was delayed previously due to a flooding at the cemetery, is completed, they are eagerly awaiting justice.
A post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted on Dindyal’s remains soon and once the results reveal that he died of injuries sustained in the accident, the driver will be rearrested and is likely to face additional charges.
