Free books were the order of the day on Friday outside of Republic Bank on Camp Street. This pile of literary treasure was up for grabs for any interested passer-by, an initiative started nearly two years ago in commemoration of the death of Walter Rodney and following in the tradition of the Walter Rodney Groundings. The group (not affiliated with a particular organization) distributes books once a month, moving from place to place each time. Sherlina Nageer (left) shared that while on these ventures, passers-by are invited to speak and interact, and share their opinions on a range of topics, sometimes controversial.
