Lawns are affected in a big way whenever we have heavy rainfall and flooding. We are well into the rainy season and with the heavy rainfall we are getting, lawns and some plants are showing signs of distress. There is just too much water for them to absorb. Since last week I have been inspecting some lawns around the outskirts of the city and for crying out loud, most of them are in need of help. Immediate attention must be given for their survival.
Now is the time to spike your lawn. Do so using a gardening fork. The spike should penetrate the soil to a depth of approximately 4 to 5 inches (as shown in the photo below). This would allow air and water to access the roots. Push the fork into the soil
