A roundabout will be constructed at the Kitty Sea Wall junction where sink holes recently opened to create a smoother flow of traffic.
Coordinator of the Works Services Group, Ministry of Public Infrastructure, Geoffrey Vaughn explained in a GINA press release that this will enable drivers to travel to their desired destination with ease while motoring on the East Coast, Carifesta Avenue or the Kitty area.
According to the media bulletin the ministry has already sent out tenders for those works. “We’re in the evaluation stage, the evaluation should have gone over to NPTAB (National Procurement and Tender Administration Board) yesterday [Monday] for finalization, which would then go to cabinet for its no objection,” Vaughn said.
The press release also stated that the work on the sinkhole is expected to begin within the next two weeks after the no-objection from Cabinet, NPTAB and the requisite bodies.
